    Creative Incubator- the home, support and voice for local artists throughout the Rio Grande Valley. With the help of the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, McA2 is bringing arts to the city and increasing the attractiveness of our community’s culture. They provide low cost studios, managerial advice, legal and technical support to qualified artisans with qualified projects.     Candlelight Posada- is a free, family-friendly event held at Archer Park each year during the holiday season.  With three stages of entertainment, food booths, a lighted parade, a visit from Santa and a nativity procession, there is something for everyone!

    Monterrey shoppers- Vamos McAliendo!  McAllen is home to some of the best places to shop, especially for Mexican nationals who love top brands.

    Movies being filmed here- Fernando Carrillo and Valente Rodriguez filmed “Gone Hollywood” in the Summer of 2010.  Check with Nancy Millar(nmillar@mcallencvb.com) to see if there are any other movies being filmed in the area!

    Green Parakeets and Red-crowned Parrots-Flocks of Red-Crowned Parrots and Green Parakeets are frequently seen and heard throughout McAllen.  Look around, you can’t miss them.

    Spray park-McAllen’s new water park, a spray park, is open at  29th and Zinnia. It boasts a sand volleyball court, half a basketball court, a walking trail, athletic practice fields and several shade structures.

    Healthy living- McAllen is full of gyms, hike & bike trails and even zumba classes for those looking for a little fun in their workout.
