ATTENTION: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is asking for the public’s assistance in the recovery of the ocelot, a highly endangered wild cat found in deep South Texas. Click Here for a guide so that you are able to identify ocelots and report them to the appropriate authorities. Ocelots used to range from South Texas into Arkansas and Lousiana but today are only found in deep South Texas. The FWS is the lead federal agency responsible for the recovery of this species and is working with many partners, public and private, to make sure this beautiful cat will grace the Texas landscape for many generations.
