The McAllen Convention & Visitors Bureau offers groups the following services:
Pre-convention planning & counseling- Providing guidance and assistance from early planning stages through to the end of the convention
- Serving as liaison between meeting planner, city facilities and convention-related services
- Meeting with your planning committee to answer questions or offer suggestions
- Distributing event information to hotels and gathering hotel bids
- Gathering all information needed for RFP and delivering bid proposal in a timely manner
Entertainment & leisure activity planning
- Assisting with pre-meeting or post-meeting leisure activities
- Offering the resources to plan spouse activities or special functions during conference
- Suggesting local speakers for event
Publicity & marketing
- Preparing news releases prior to convention, upon request
- Acting as a liaison with City government officials to arrange City welcome
- Promotional materials
- Providing brochures on area attractions, events, hotels and restaurants
- Offering goody bags with items such as McAllen pens, grapefruit jelly beans, memo pads, etc.
Registration assistance
- Assisting with event registration
- Supplying badges and badge holders for attendees
Green meetings
- Offering your attendees environmentally friendly goody bags
- Recycling your badge holders
- Finding green consulting services to help your event become more environmentally conscious
Reception
- A 60-minute McAllen Margarita Reception to welcome guests to South Texas.
